HBC moderated the First National Conference on Credit Reporting in Nigeria organised by Business Development and Investments (BDI) in conjunction with the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).  This two day conference held at Federal Palace Hotel in Victoria Island, Lagos was attended by all stakeholders in the lending industry from all over Nigeria and parts of Africa including South Africa, Kenya, and Tanzania.  There was a large delegation from the Central Bank of Nigeria, and representatives from Credit Bureaus, IFC, Commercial Banks, Mortgage Banks, Micro-finance Banks, Retailers (who give credit to agents and distributors), telecomms companies (who offer post-paid services).  

Presentations were made by CBN, CBAN (the credit bureau association of Nigeria), IFC, First Bank, Garry March - a consumer credit expert, and UAC Nigeria - one of the largest retailers in Nigeria.

The Financial Health Clinic team comprised of HBC and Lotus Capital were invited to the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) to deliver a one hour information session on their financial literacy and personal financial planning product.

The session was enthusiastically received and the NSE is exploring making the full programme available to its staff and partners.
